This month our Supplier Spotlight is on our brilliant oat milk supplier, Toats Mylk.  We're proud to have offered this brand of oat since we opened, and as far as our customers (and we) are concerned, it's top notch - brilliant in tea, coffee, on cereal and to drink as is.

We’re proud to be able to offer Toats Mylk to you on a refill basis - you just pop down with your container (or can use one of the glass bottles we sell in store) and fill as much as you need from our Toats dispenser!  Super easy to use and you can dispense as little or as much as you like!

Toats Mylk is deliciously creamy, with 11% British oats and no nasty preservatives - just 5 ingredients make up this delicious mylk - water, oats, sea salt, sunflower oil and Cornish seaweed. All grown and produced at Rushmere Farm in Hampshire!  The ambition at Rushmere Farm was always to grow food productively, whilst maintaining a place for wildlife, and they are well on their way to achieving this.

In addition to supplying Toats Mylk, Rushmere Farm are beginning to form a monthly volunteer day, which usually involves an afternoon of planting or weeding, moving logs, chatting, chopping, drinking tea and making pizza. They also have a full itinerary of workshops running throughout 2022.

Workshops all start with a tour of the farm and woodland, with excellent tuition from resident woodworker (@wodwo.wood), and delicious home-grown food (@digginrootsveg) for lunch and tea. Over the course of a day or weekend you are taught how to carve a spoon or make a four-legged stool from wood grown as part of a management plan that protects wildlife and captures carbon on the farm. Rushmere Farm recommends staying the night in a yurt or shepherds hut to relax into farm life.

*Income from workshops and stays goes directly back into the farm to ensure their commitment to agroecology, with a proportion also funding monthly workshops for refugees and asylum seekers in association with Friends Without Borders and the British Red Cross.

We love offering Toats Mylk to our customers, and love the fact that George and his team are genuinely focused on not only producing the best oat mylk, but also are so committed to grow food in a sustainable and wildlife friendly way at Rushmere Farm.
