Love pickled vegetables? Why not try making your own! It’s easy to do and allows you to pickle just about any vegetable. The most popular vegetable for pickling is cucumbers. They take on the spice infusion well and provide a great twist to ordinary cucumbers for salads all year round. We keep the spices in this mix whole for a stronger, more robust flavour infusion.
How to use pickling spice mix:
- In a saucepan add pickling spice mix to vinegar with a touch of salt
- Bring to the boil and leave to cool overnight
- Add desired vegetables and pickled vinegar mix into a jar and leave for at least 48 hours to pickle before consuming.
Proportions: Mix 1 Tbsp Pickling Spice with 600ml Vinegar.
