Last month we commissioned an amazing local young artist, Alysha Taylor, to create a thing of beauty from our plain, boring white walls. We were blown away with the results - thank you Alysha for all your hard work and talent! Alysha is available for commissions - get in touch with her via her Instagram page - @alysha.taylor_textiles.
Here's what happened in Alysha's words:
"Last month I worked on one of my biggest commissions to date and I am so pleased to share the results. After seeing the posters and prints I sell on Etsy, Natalie and Millie from Naked Refills approached me with the idea of painting the walls in their new shop space to bring it more life and colour. Following discussions and ideas, I developed a colourful design which reflects the nature and ethos of their vegan and sustainable company/ products. I then got messy and brought my design to life by drawing and painting freehand on the walls.
This commission has brought me new and exciting challenges, such as taking my A4 design and drawing it on the huge walls. Working in such a large scale definitely took my skills to new heights and I loved every second of this experience.
Here are a few pics because this is one of my proudest pieces of work. I feel so lucky to have been given this opportunity to explore and challenge my skills as a designer/maker.
Go check out the Naked Refills shop for vegan and sustainable products."
